sue vaughton / architectural & interior photographer
I grew up moving from place to place. My father’s Polaroid and Super 8 were always around, capturing family life as we moved between the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and the US before settling in England. I think that’s where it started for me.
I studied art and design, then earned a BA (Hons) in Photography from Nottingham Trent University, and began in medical photography. I spent time overseas. Later, I found myself working in property development and then having our own holiday rental agency, but always coming back to photography.
For the last ten years, I have photographed interiors, architecture, and the spaces where people live and work… full-time. I know the frustration of flat, uninspired property photography. A place that looks lifeless on screen but, in reality, has atmosphere and character.
In April 2024, I completed an MA in Photography with Distinction from Falmouth University. When I’m not working on client projects, I focus on personal work, stepping outside the commercial world to explore photography in my own way.
